酸化物系ナノチューブの高次構造チューニングによる物理光化学機能の深化と体系化

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

酸化物半導体ナノチューブ材料を高効率高次環境保全・エネルギー創製など次世代型サステナブルシステムへ適応しうる多機能集積型材料へと変革することを目的とした研究を進め、下記の成果を得た。
チタニアナノチューブ(TNT)表面にリンカー分子やポリマー分子を直接担持させた。これらを足場として重合開始剤を一切使わない方法で導電性高分子であるポリアニリンを重合形成させた。これらの無機・有機ナノハイブリッド材料について透過型・走査型高分解能電子顕微鏡および組成分析を行い、構成元素である窒素および炭素の存在および分布を解明した。また、ポリアニリン担持により可視光照射下で光触媒反応が進行することを実証した。
過酸化水素処理したTNTでは、表面および格子内にペルオキソ基が形成すること、これらがTNTの可視光応答化に寄与することを解明した。また、光照射に伴う活性種形成と触媒反応ダイナミクスを解明するため、多様なラジカルトラップ剤存在下で光照射反応および電子スピン共鳴計測を行い、本材料における光化学反応の挙動を解明した。
溶液化学反応プロセスの最適化と分子設計手法の適用により、金属錯体イオンから直接TNTを合成する手法を検討し、従来法に比較して低アルカリ濃度で合成することに成功した。更にこれら構造形成過程での配位多面体形成過程を解明し、多彩なナノ構造のチタニア系材料の合成とその機構を解明した。
更に、低次元ナノ形態を制御するプロセスを開拓し、階層的構造形成により特異な結晶構造とナノ構造の共生を実現した。この結果、本材料に優れた陽イオン吸着特性を付与することに成功すると共に、その機構について、ボトムアッププロセスにおける構成元素濃度により構造・形態が変化し、これらが吸着特性に寄与することを明らかにした。
以上の結果を総括し、低次元ナノ構造酸化物の構造・機能チューニングの有効性とその機序について明らかとした。
