Outline of Final Research Achievements |
There have been increases in different values and social change in Japan. When helping children using psychological approaches, we have to pay attention to socio-cultural contexts (discourses). The purpose of this study was to theorize and verify processes of psychological support for children (mainly play therapy) in terms of a discursive perspective using discourse analysis and positioning theory. We found three points as follows: A) a therapist’s positioning toward a discourse which a child suffered from can change the child’s positioning. B) Children can use various discourses through the processes. C) Various discourses can lead to children’s recovery.
