Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We analyzed MpRLD gene which is just one orthologue of Arabidopsis AtRLD1~4 involved in gravity responses. We identified MpRLD gene expression patterns, and its overexpression induced morphologically similar phenotype to overexpression lines of phytohormone auxin synthesis gene in M. polymorpha. This suggests that the RLD genes in Arabidopsis and liverwort have a common role in auxin signaling which requires gravity responses. We are challenging to isolate novel mutants which have defect in gravity responses in the liverwort. We examined which phenotypes and growth conditions should be payed attention for the mutant screen, and we found one of the best conditions for it.
