Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of the research is to develop an educational method to enhance the appreciation ability which is the foundation of the expression of young children. As a way to do that, I used traditional Japanese paintings. Therefore, I made a research hypothesis that multiple senses are connected by utilizing traditional paintings, and active viewing activities become possible.I tried to let students and young children view Japanese traditional paintings. As a result, it became clear that features such as craftiness, decorativeness, repetition and simplicity are remarkable in works promoting sensory interaction. Especially, it became clear that works with high craftwork and decorative effect make use of tactile and body sensation other than visual sense. In this way, it became clear that some of Japanese traditional paintings are effective as an appreciation education method for infants.
