Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I developed the study on effects of cultural change (increasing individualism) in Korean society in collaboration with Dr. Norasakkunkit and collected data in December. The preliminary findings were presented at Korea University in March, 2016. I am going to present the details and future directions at the congress of International Association of Cross-Cultural Psychology to be held in August in Nagoya. Also I collected data for investigating effects of perceived changing social norms of individualism on individuals’ emotional experiences and well-being among Japanese university students in April, 2016. I am going to analyze the data and present the results at a domestic conference, Japan Society for Social Psychology, to be held in Osaka in September. Future plans will be discussed with Dr. Bastian at the University of Melbourne via e-mail correspondence.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
My research has been going smoothly as planned and I believe there will be no big problems for this year (2016) in advancing the study to publish the results.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan to develop a further study about cultural change in East Asia. After discussing with Dr. Norasakkunkit after the IACCP conference in July, I am going to collect data from non-university Korean and Japanese samples in September. I will analyze data by November and write up a paper combining all studies. To investigate effects of increasing norms of individualism on emotional experience and well-being, I am going to analyze the data in May and develop further studies from August. I aim to collect data by December and write up a paper by March, 2017.
