Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This project clarifies the notable uniqueness of representations of bodies in major works of contemporary Anglo-Irish literature and drama, especially major works by W.B. Yeats, J.M. Synge, James Joyce and Samuel Beckett. Focusing on works that cast doubt on the traditional Catholic culture in terms of psychological transformation, this project also clarifies that many of such transformations have been described in those works as what can occur in public and semi-public spaces, and, by analyzing the intersection of the theme of transformation and the theme of national regeneration, that many writers, poets, and playwrights tend to focus on the vulnerable, oppressed people, namely the voiceless voice, in Irish society.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
