Outline of Final Research Achievements

My major contribution in recent months is as below. The empirical analysis for the higher educated workers of major cities in Asian countries has been submitted to a refereed journal and have been rewrited as of May, 2019. Then, I presented our research about the determinants of academic achievement in Japanese university students in June, 2019. In addition, I analyzed income returns to majors using a relatively new sample of higher educated workers.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

インターンシップ、留学、海外勤務、専攻、大学院の進学等が高学歴者の卒業後のキャリアに与える影響を実証分析しており、これらのファクターの厳密な実証分析はこれまでほとんど行われてこなかった。実証的に結果を提示できたことは、高学歴者の間で付加価値を持つ人材による格差が確認できたことでもあり、非常に意義のある成果と考えている。さらに、アジア諸国の大都市でも一部に同様の傾向が確認されており、学術誌への掲載、国内外の学会で積極的に成果報告を行った。日本では、大学進学率が諸外国より遅れており、高学歴者に限定した研究は十分ではなく、特に本課題は性差に着目して高学歴女性特有の課題を考察した点に意義がある。
