Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this research was to reveal the structure of skin and subcutaneous tissue for early-stage lymphoedema patients. We defined early-stage lymhoedema as non-oedema after lymph node dissection for breast cancer.
We assessed dermal and subcutaneous sturucture by ultrasonography. As result, we could find the new indicator as "thickness " of subcutaneous tissue. Then, pocket ultrasound device was validated to calculate the thickness of subcutaneous tissue. It will be contributed on the new assessment method for early stage lymphoedema patients.
