渡航後は国際共同研究の推進と研究成果の公表に努めてきた。英文論文１本（Hitoshi Suzuki and Izuru Makihara, “Japan-EEC/EU Relations, 1970-2005: Re-Emergence as Strategic Partners in Trade and Environment.”Journal of European Integration History査読済み）近刊予定である。また単著『サッチャーと日産英国工場』（2015年）については、『Japanese Investment and British Trade Unionism; Thatcher and Nissan Revisited in the Wake of Brexit（単著）』と題し、 2018年10月にPalgrave Macmillan社と出版契約を結んだ。2020年初に公刊を予定している。この他、公刊には至っていないが、査読待ちの英文論文一本と、Oxford University Pressより執筆依頼を受けて共同執筆したEncyclopediaに寄稿した一章が査読中であり、研究期間全体をとおして非常に有意義に成果を挙げることができた。
