Research Abstract |
For a validated first framework of rescue just after the earthquake occurrence, the information on seismic disaster over the concerned area is indispensable. The development of the estimation system which includes the renewable function for seismic disaster distribution is especially significant. This research project is aimed to develop the prompt estimation system for a detailed seismic intensity map on the basis of the JMA seismic intensity of the observation stations as well as the soil profile database over the concerned area. Major results of the research project may be summarized as in the following. (1) Development of the database for soil profiles for Tokai region The soil profile models of surface geology for 6 prefectures in Tokai region has been organized. The profile models are allocated to about 170,000 meshes which are equally spaced (about 500m x 500m) in 6 prefectures. (2) Prompt estimation system for detailed seismic intensity map The prediction technique for short-period strong motion and the inversion technique of asperity distribution on fault plane using the strong motion records have been systemaized. On the basis of these techniques, the prompt estimation system for detailed seismic intensity map has been developed. (3) Estimation technique of liquefation potential map The system which can estimate the liquefaction potential distribution for concerned area has been developed. The effect of ground motion duration on the liquefaction has been discussed, and the results were innovated into the system.
