Research Abstract |
To establish an integrated four-dimensional irradiation system for SBRT (stereotactic body radiation therapy), the following research had been performed. 1.Respiratory gating system To expand the stereotactic radiotherapy for a patient with poor respiratory function, a gating system is ideal. In this study, a flow and a pressure gated signal generators and a coaching system was established. 2.Image registration for SBRT The image registration between CT, MRI and FDG (FLT)-PET was performed. The system could be used for both target delineation and evaluation of response. 3.Clinical application of SBRT As many as 180 patients have been treated with this technique. The clinical results of primary lung cancer and secondary lung cancer was evaluated respectively. 4.JCOG0403 A mutli-institutional phase II study of SBRT for stage I lung cancer is ongoing.
