Research Abstract |
Correlation between turbidity and density of oil in wash water is adopted in measuring cleaned rate in order to make experiments effectively. Different cleaning curve is gained at each materials, steel and FRP. Tile tip was hard to measure enough to consider correctly. Temperature of the wash water is not so much influence on the cleaning rate, although viscosity of the oil affects to vary exponentially at range from 5 to 30℃. Contact angles of emulsion of heavy fuel oil increase with its moisture content. Difference of the contact angles is not clearly found at each material tips. Cleaning experiences were practiced with 3 different products of heavy fuel oil (in Japanese category "C"). These test oil were analyzed by "IATROSCAN" and it was confirmed that ratio of 4 components (saturated, aroma, resin, asphaltene) were different. One of them showed high viscosity at same moisture content. The test oil components ratio was especially different from others. The ratio of the aroma was much lower. It was not found differences of both of the contact angle and surface tension in the each test oil. Though the viscosity of the test oil were highly different, it was not so much difference in remaining oil on tips after cleaning experiments with ultrasonic cleaning method. It is confirmed that both of the contact angle and the surface tension are increase as the moisture content of the emulsion increase. Work of adhesion is calculated that it increases as the moisture content increases, so it is estimated that cleaning may become difficult. However, experiment shows a tendency that cleaning become easier as the moisture content increases. Conclusion of the experience is that the rate of cleaning correlates with moisture content of the test oil or the contact angle of the test piece.
