Research Abstract |
It experimented about development of the sensitivity of the swallowing reflex induced by the taste solution stimulus to the larynx and the pharynx regions after the birth, and the relation to the sensation and the swallowing reflex in the above regions of the nitric oxide (NO), and the following conclusions were obtained. 1. The swallowing reflex was easier to be induced by the water stimulus as well as the acid stimulus to a throat in the newborn rabbits than adults, and it settled down almost to the same extent as around the 10th day to the period of maturity which is an ablactation start term. 2. Although the swallowing reflex induced by the stimuli of the superior laryngeal nerve and the glossopharyngeal nerve central ends showed the same reaction to NMDA and MK-801, the swallowing reflex by a superior laryngeal nerve was not changed by L-NMA and 7-NI. It was shown clearly that the facilitative mechanism via a NMDA-NO pathway plays important role on the swallowing reflex from the pharynx. 3. The food fats presumed to participate in the obesity which can become one index of the lifestyle-related disease of a child term were examined. It is clarified that the receptor for food fats exists, although the food fats was discussed that it can become the food which has palatability by frequent ingestion. 4. It was clarified in childhood that the variation in a mouthful amount was mostly fixed after the early stage of mixed dentition. It was also elucidated by the experiments on the school lunch that the food hardness of the side dish hardly changed the digestion time or the number of times of digestion, indicating that the mouthful amount of a food was decided before taking into a mouth.
