Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、北海道島からサハリン島にかけての日本列島北部地域における歴史民族集団における、その形成・統合過程をF. バルトによるエスニシティ境界論の観点から学際的かつ批判的に検討するとともに、遺跡出土人骨から採取した古代DNAサンプルを最新のゲノム解析技術で解析することで、オホーツク文化集団の特徴を具体的に個人レベルに於いても復元することにある。
平成28年度の実績（１）研究会の実施：民族概念を検討する領域横断的な研究を組織し、基礎概念と研究課題の共有を図った。（２）国際学会での報告：平成28年8月に京都と開催された世界考古学会議（World Archaeology Cogress）においてセッションを企画実施し、日本列島北部の文化的多様性と民族形成の現状についての報告を行った。
（３）人類遺伝学の解析：浜中２遺跡から出土したオホーツク文化週末期の人骨資料から抽出した古代DNAのゲノム解析を進めた。（４）各研究領域の統合：本研究の帰着点としては、歴史学と考古学による基礎資料と、人類遺伝学と自然人類学による分析結果を統合し、アイヌ民族とその隣接集団の系統的多様性を解明を想定している。研究計画の初年度としては、概ね想定した以上の研究事業の展開が可能となり、成果も予想以上に得られている。（５）平成29年への展開：平成29年度以降は、地域集団の集団的・文化的多様性の背景を説明可能とする理論的枠組みの構築に取り組みたい。

Reason

（１）古代DNA資料の解析は研究分担者によって予定通りに進められている。
（２）World Archaeology Congress-8においてセッションを企画実施し、国際学会での報告と、異なる研究領域間での課題共有と概念整理を行うことができた。
（３）民族概念についての研究会をスタートし、平成28年度内に２回の研究会を開催することができ、異なる専門領域の研究者間での問題意識と概念の意見交換と情報共有を図ることができた。
（４）英文による関連論文が複数刊行され、研究成果の一部及びプロジェクトを広く社会的に周知することができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

（１）研究年度２年目の平成29年度も、各研究班単位で資料調査及び分析を進める。
（２）平成28年度からスタートさせた民族概念の研究会については、平成29年度の引き続き継続し、民族概念、エスニシテ
ィについての理論的枠組みの整理を行う。
（３）ワークショップ及び研究セミナーを通じて研究成果の共有と周知に取り組む。
（４）オホーツク文化と中世温暖期との関係について概要を解説する英語論文を作成投稿する。
（５）新聞社と連携した市民講座を実施し、社会への研究成果の公開に努める。
