Outline of Annual Research Achievements

宇宙地球結合系探査用複数衛星計画「FACTORS」のため観測機器・衛星バスシステムの開発を推進した。また、地球電離圏プラズマイオンの宇宙空間への流出を直接計測する目的でSS-520-3号機観測ロケットが2年間の打ち上げ延長の後、2021年11月4日(木)現地時間11時09分25秒にノルウェーのニーオルスンロケット実験場から磁気嵐の最中に打ち上げられた。このフライトによるロケット運用では、本研究で開発を進めた超熱的エネルギーイオン分析器も順調に稼動し、イオン流出メカニムの特定につながる超熱的エネルギーイオンのデータ取得に成功した。これらの観測成果は現在取りまとめられつつあり、学術論文に発表する予定である。今後SS-520-3号機観測ロケット実験の成功を受けて、FACTORS衛星計画用に開発中であるイオンエネルギー質量分析器でも飛行時間分析法を用いた質量分析を行うことにかんする技術的な基板が構築された。従来の飛行時間分析では、超薄膜カーボンを用いた二次電子生成 を行ってきたが、重粒子入射の際に粒子自身の通過率が低いという問題があったため キャピラリプレートを用いた二次電子生成の性能を実験的に調べた。これにより観測器で比較的利用しやすい数kV 程度の加速電圧であっても重イオンを効率的に観測する技術の獲得につながる結果を得ることができた。
また、これまでに観測データが取得されている海外機関の衛星・ロケット搭載機器による熱圏測定の先行研究の成果を調査した。また現在稼働中の米国衛星(GOLD, ICON)による観測状況や計画中の衛星機器情報を収集し、現在の未解明課題が今後どの程度明らかにされ、FACTORS衛星稼働時にどのような課題が未解決のままなのか、それらを解決するにはどのような観測体制・精度が要求されるか検討した。これらの検討結果を含めた将来衛星計画への展望を学術論文に発表した。
