Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study is to shed light the status quo of medical organizations in Hokkaido. Firstly, we investigate how top management manage physicians and what kind of network medical organizations in Hokkaido form with companies like pharmaceutical makers and medical equipment manufactures. Secondly, we examine how health care management in Hokkaido relate to the effects.
In this study, through methodological triangulation, we research value creation in dental clinics, strategy formulation of regional enterprises, network capabilities of medical organizations, and implementation effects of medical Balanced Scorecard.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、北海道内の医療機関および企業を対象として、歯科診療所における価値創造の仕組み、地域活性化に貢献する経営戦略・企業家活動、医療機関における経営成果に対する市場志向の影響、またその際のネットワーク能力の調整効果、バランスト・スコアカードの実践に対するトップ・マネジメントのリーダーシップの影響を明らかにしている。北海道における経営学系の拠点大学としての歴史を有する小樽商科大学に所属する学際的なチームによって、病院の経営成果、あるいは、地域活性化に導くための具体的要因が多面的な観点から示された点に社会的な意義を見出せると考える。
