| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
世界最大の淡水魚で重要な水産資源のメコンオオナマズは絶滅が危惧されているものの、人工種苗がタイ国内の湖に放流されている。しかし本来の生息域ではない湖に適応して、再生産しているかなどの基礎的な知見は皆無である。本研究は、高精度に測位できるバイオテレメトリーを駆使して湖における本種の生態を解明する。絶滅危惧種の保全ならびに資源管理のための基礎的知見の確立に貢献する。
平成29年度は、昨年度から引き続き、発信機のついた全長20cm程度の稚魚と全長2m程度の大型魚をテレメトリーによってモニタリングした。またあわせて、安定同位体比分析に供する試料の採取をおこない、メコンオオナマズを中心に分析を開始した。

平成29年度は、テレメトリーによって稚魚と大型魚の生態調査をおこなった。また、タイ国と共同で安定同位体比分析を開始した。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
計画通り、様々な技術（テレメトリー、安定同位体比分析、胃内容物分析、生殖腺熟度分析など）を用いて、湖におけるメコンオオナマズの生態・行動の解明を目指す。
