Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The objective of this study was to examine the acceptations of Silla and Gaya culture in Japanese archipelago, based on the study of the typical materials, such as the iron bell and horn-shaped cup, and folkways, such as the burial of the blacksmith tools in 5-6th century. The outcomes are as follows. 1)Some Silla cultural elements of Japanese Kofun culture did not derived from the center, but from the provinces of Silla.;2)In many cases, the cultural materials derived from Silla and Gaya were not found in the Kinai, the central area of Japan in those days, but in the provinces such as the northern Kyushu, Okayama, Hokuriku area.;3) The group from the western Gyeongsang-namdo area, that is the old Gaya area after the fall of Gaya, possibly took part in the large development in the northern Kyushu of 6-7th century. The study described above shows the provincial polities independently contacted to Silla and Gaya polity without the influences of the Kinai polity.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
