Outline of Annual Research Achievements

継続してマルチビーム用超伝導大規模集積回路の性能向上に取り組んだ。まず設計精度の向上のため、冷却プローブステーションを用いたSIS接合の容量測定を進め、広いバイアス電圧領域かつ広周波数帯域で測定することにより、量子サセプタンスの影響を定量的に測定できるようにした。これにより、構造由来による接合容量を高精度に抽出でき、集積回路のさらなる設計精度の向上が可能となった。次に超伝導集積回路型バランスドミキサの動作実証では、受信機雑音温度40 K以下、局部発信器電力入力ポート由来の雑音抑圧比15dB以上を達成し、昨年度は実現できなかったRFハイブリッドカプラの動作確認が完了できた。これにより、従来導波管回路で製作してきた要素部品が超伝導集積回路上で実装できることが実証され、当初目標であったシステムオンチップ化に成功したことになる。さらに、バランスドミキサは局部発信器電力を10分の1以下に抑えることができたため、マルチビーム化への実現に向けた技術検証もできた。そして、マルチビーム化への技術検証では、超伝導集積回路の冷却試験を実施し、機械的特性に問題ないことが確認できたが、高周波特性についてはSIS接合の歩留まりが課題となり、完全な動作実証には至らなかった。しかし、超伝導集積回路の作製プロセスの洗練化を進めたことで課題解決の見通しは得られており、早期の動作実証を検討している。最後に、これらの研究結果をまとめ、世界に先駆けて広視野・高分解能・高画質観測を可能とする電波干渉計の基本設計を検討し、その提案を国際研究会2018 SPIE にて発表した。
以上の成果について、積極的に主要な国際会議での成果発表、国内学会でも発表を行った。そして、広視野電波干渉計の設計、超伝導集積回路作製とその動作実証などについての査読論文を複数件出版した。
