Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Phosphatidylinositides are essential for cellular dynamics of plants. We found that one of Phosphatidylinositides, PI(4,5)P2 accumulated in extra-invasive-hyphal membrane during Colletotrichum infection. Overexpressing PIP5K (an enzyme for PI[4,5]P2 production) caused higher susceptibility to Colletotrichum than wild type. These results suggest that Colletotrichum induces the PI(4,5)P2 production in plants for its infection.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
