Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we characterized the novel fruit allergen Gibberellin Regulated Protein (GRP) by analyzing GRP in comparison with Lipid Transfer Protein (LTP), which was conventionally known to cause severe allergic symptoms.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

日本人モモアレルギーの重症マーカーであるGRPのリコンビナント抗原を作製して免疫学的に評価した結果は、今後の臨床検査法開発の基礎的データとなる。また、サンドイッチELISAを作製し、定量したことで明らかになったモモやモモ加工品中のGRP含有量は、食物アレルギー患者の食生活に直接的に活用できる。さらには現在、卵、乳、小麦アレルギーの治療として普及しつつある経口免疫寛容を果物で行うにあたっての有益な情報となる。
