Research Abstract

海底の堆積物-水境界(SWI)の pH プロファイルを、底生有孔虫殻に含まれる同位体比と微量元素組成に基づいて復元し、物質循環の議論を行うことを目的に研究を行った。
1)深海におけるSWI のpH, DO プロファイル取得手法開発と現場観測に成功。
2)未撹乱堆積物表層の化学プロファイルと有孔虫生息分布との相関を解明。
3)精密培養装置を作成し、培養・観察。
4)以上から得られた有孔虫殻の安定同位体比(炭素、酸素、ホウ素)
および微量元素測定に基づき、pH proxy を提案。
