Research Abstract |
A computer-assisted system for self-teaching of discriminating Chinese four tones was developed, and provided through the internet to Japanese college students of Chinese language class. By selecting suitable uses among screening, practicing and reviewing, and also among word lists of bi-syllabic combination of four tones with different degree of difficulty, the required time for achieving the goal could be reduced. Efficiency of the self-teaching system was examined based on the detailed analysis of the characteristic errors by about 100 students found in the results of twice examinations.
