Research Abstract

The introduction of the IT system (electronic medical record) is recommended for the purpose of improvement of prevention of medical accident and the medical quality.
The purpose of this study clarifies a change of medical information processing and the nursing-care work by the introduction of the IT system and performs suggestion for prevention of medical accident.
By the investigation before introducing an IT system, In keeping nursing records, many problems were noted as to inaccurate contents of the records and inaccuracy of time recorded resulting from a variety of reasons, Such as plan entries after performing tasks, joint seal impression after serial procedures, non-placing of seals after performing procedures, trying to balance accounts, etc. As factors behind these recording practices, cumbersome procedures and overloaded tasks could be pointed out. It appeared necessary to establish recording systems allowing entries at bed side with automatic time records and to secure flexibl e communication routes for consulting physicians and other responsible persons regarding ward nursing services. As for the result of the communication with the patient, a characteristic emerged every ward. The conversation of contents of "education/the guidance" was carried out for the protector of the patient at the pediatrics.
By the investigation after the introduction of the IT system, Convenience improvement of information input and the confirmation was nominated for an advantage of the IT system introduction. As a fault, Confirmation of the information confirmation was inconvenient and did not understand instructions change. As for the object in case of the intelligence before the duty, electronic medical record was the center. However, The act that transferred computerized information to "a memo paper" was observed. This act, It was the same act if before IT system introduction. The future problem is to make it easy to take out computerized medical information. Data processing became the notebook computer, and mobility improved. Therefore an act to record after work immediately was seen in the nurse. Data processing at the time of paper base, after work, I filled in a memo paper with patient information in bedside and filled out a patient's record afterwards. In other words, it was thought that the decrease of the posting error and an accurate record of the work time were enabled by the introduction of the IT system.
