Critical texts of legal documents in Ming period selected from Huizhou historical documents were completed by Iwai Shigeki and Afeng, and these texts were published both as a printed book and as electronic text on the Web. This XML document was transformed to get the both of data for printing and of HTML document for publishing on the Web by applying two other XSLT stylesheets. This tagged XML document is used in the Web application which provides searching and classifying of documents by remote users. Coding of the stylesheet and Web application was completed by Iwai. Two introductions written by Iwai and Afeng were added to the book completed as Zhou Shaoquan, Afeng and Iwai Shigeki ed., The Legal Documents in Ming China : revised texts with introduction. Using many form variations of each character, it is needed to provide a function to identify the relations of characters in varied form. This function implemented as a Java class is used within the servlet which provide network users searching and reading of the text. Less
