Research Abstract |
This research was executed about the following. (a) The ulrla-short pulse optical source for the SC generation using dispersion control fiber was produced. (S.Miura, Fiscal year 2007 graduation thesis of Department of Computer Science, Kitami Institute of Technology, 2008. T.Enkho, Fiscal year 2008 graduation thesis of Department of Computer Science, Kitami Institute of Technology, 2009.) (b) The phase characteristic of the SC spectral light was investigated. (c) The spectrum controlling system was investigated for the optical synthesizer erection. (IEICE Trans.Electron.(Japanese Edition), Vol.J90C, No.40, pp.392--393. Y.Maruyama, Fiscal year 2005 graduation thesis of Department of Computer Science, Kitami Institute of Technology, 2006.) Highly efficient generation of spectrally-broad single-mode supercontinuum (SC) light in conventional tapered fibers is well documented. It has been recently reported that optical pulses propagating through a tapered fiber immersed in heavy water (D_2O) yield an broad and flat SC spectrum because the dispersion characteristics of the fiber is flattened at zero dispersion around 1064nm. We present in detail the numerical analysis of the SC generation for the tapered fiber in D_2O. The influence of incident light pulse parameters and waist length of tapered fiber on SC spectra was also examined. (Proceedings of JSAP the 54th Spring Meeting 2007, Vol.3, p.1270.
