Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research aims to build a theoretical basis for the management of wide-area transport networks in the event of a large-scale natural disaster that greatly exceeds the people's daily activity area. We focused on the problems related to emergency wide-area evacuation within about one week after the disaster and the problem of supplying daily supplies to evacuees. We have achieved followings; (1) formulation of a common theoretical foundation for transportation network management in the event of a disaster,(2) establishment of a management theory for wide-area evacuation and transportation of daily necessities and (3) a case study ofintegrated wide-area evacuation and transport supply of daily necessities.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

被災範囲が人々の日常的な生活圏を大きく越えるような大規模な自然災害が発生した際の広域交通ネットワークのマネジメントのための理論基盤を構築することを目的として，発災後1週間程度以内の応急的な広域避難に関わる問題と避難者に対する生活物資の供給問題を包括的に扱うことのできる数理モデルの構築とそのケーススタディを実施した．このことにより，巨大災害時に地域間のネットワーク上で生起すると予想される諸問題に対する減災効果の大きい交通運用方策を議論する際の理論的根拠を提供することが可能となる．
