Nano-interface engineering of heterojunction quantum dot solar cells and the effect on charge separation of multiple excitons

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度では, QD間距離の変化による多重励起子の電荷分離の速度定数のQD間距離の依存性について検討した。メルカプトアルカン酸(MAA)であるmercaptopropionic acid (3-MPA), mercaptohexanic acid (6-MHA)、mercaptohexanic acid (12-MDA)、mercaptohexadecanoic acid (16-MHDA)の4種類の配位子をQD表面に配位させることで、QD間距離のみが異なるQD膜を作製することができる。QD間距離はそれぞれ、0.3(±0.2)nm, 0.8(±0.4)nm, 1.4(±0.4)nm 2.1(±0.4) nmである。励起光強度を増加させ、QD内に存在する励起子数を変化させた時のTA応答を観測した。QD内の最低励起準位に存在する2、3励起子のキャリア寿命τ_2とτ_3を、subtraction procedure法により求めた。その逆数である速度定数(k_2, k_3)とQD間距離の依存性が得られた。QD距離が短くなるに従い、k_2とk_3がそれぞれ増加した。QD間距離が短くになるつれ、多重励起子の電荷分離確率Kが増加したことがわかる。以上の結果より、QD間距離を短くすることにより、オージェ再結合よりも早く、多重励起子を電荷分離しQD間を輸送することができることがわかった。以上の結果より、QDの特徴であるMEGなどにより生成した多重励起子を、太陽電池などの光デバイスに利用できる可能性が示唆された。
また、PbS QDs/ZnO ナノワイヤー(NWs)ヘテロ接合太陽電池におけるSnO2界面パッシベーションによる光電変換効率の向上のメカニズムについて検討し、ZnO NWs表面の無輻射再結合欠陥がSnO2界面パッシベーションにより著しく低減されたためであると判明した。

Reason

当初では、H30年度に①量子ドット薄膜における単一励起子と多重励起子の緩和ダイナミクスの解明;②ヘテロ接合量子ドット太陽電池の各界面の制御と太陽電池特性との相関;③量子ドット太陽電池の各界面における電荷分離と再結合ダイナミクスの解明という内容
を計画していた。計画したとおりに、上記の内容はすべて順調に研究することができて、高いレベルの論文を発表できた。
さらに、①については、QD間距離を短くすることにより、オージェ再結合よりも早く、多重励起子を電荷分離しQD間を輸送することができることを見つけた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

昨年度に引き続きまして、以下の項目を実施する。
1.異なる量子ドットサイズのPbS量子ドットを対象として、表面にオレイン酸(OA)が配位しているPbS 量子ドット溶液を用いて、スピンコート法により配位子置換および成膜をガラス基板上で行う。①量子ドットサイズのみ変化したものと②量子ドットのサイズが同じであるが表面特性が異なる量子ドット膜を作製する。過渡吸収法(TA)を用いて、量子ドット薄膜における単一励起子と多重励起子の緩和ダイナミクスを評価し、多重励起子の電荷分離の効率と条件を見出す。
2.量子ドット表面の配位子を異なる無機配位子と異なる長さと構造の有機配位子に置換し、量子ドット間の距離と量子ドット表面欠陥密度を制御する。これらの界面制御と励起子の電荷分離速度定数および光電変換特性との相関を検討する。また、n型ナノ構造の表面に対して、化学的な溶液法を用いて大きいバンドギャップを持つ半導体によるパッシベーションを行い、パッシベーションによる太陽電池の光電変換特性向上とそのメカニズムを検討する。
3.フェムト秒の過渡吸収法(fs-TA)を用いて、上記の1と2のサンプルに対して、サブピコ秒からナノ秒までの時間領域で起こる多重励起子生成の発現と緩和過程とナノヘテロ界面での電荷分離プロセスを解明する。また、ナノ秒のTA(ns-TA)法を用いて、数100ナノ秒から数100ミリ秒の時間領域にてナノヘテロ界面で起こる電荷再結合過程を解明する。これらの結果に基づいて、太陽電池デバイスにおける多重励起子生成の発現できる条件とメカニズムを検討する。
