Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have developed the assessment method for adult congenital heart disease and surgery. At first, we developed a tool for comprehensive assessment of hemodynamics and cardiac function of the right and left ventricle, and we developed 4D flow MRI post processing software and scan protocol. Then, we have applied in adult congenital heart disease cases who often have problems in the pulmonary valve and the right ventricular outflow tract. Flow energy loss is the sensitive parameter for the cardiac workload in these diseases, and pulmonary valve surgery prominently reduced the energy loss in these cases. We have developed a 4D flow MRI post processing software and we have published several papers regarding hemodynamics assessment of the adult congenital heart disease cases before and after the surgery.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
