Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In Japan and colonial Korea before WWⅡ, especially the space of Tenri church, Japanese believers and Korean believers shared religious teaching and life. In the background, principle of equality as meaning of that human is children of God the Parent. And then, there is religious practice based on teaching of Tenrikyo. This kind of universal perspective of salvation was one of the reason for missionary work in colonial Korea.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
戦前の韓国における天理教の展開に関する従来の研究は、教団発行の機関誌と新聞にもとづいて国策と教団の動向を分析したものが多数を占める。本研究はマクロレベルの視点を踏まえながら、布教師と信者の視点を取り扱うことによって信仰生活と救済観を多面的に把握した。その過程で様々な一次資料を収集することができた。 また、天理教の信仰者が「日本人」「朝鮮人」というアイデンティティから生じる葛藤を、宗教的理念から解消しながら救済を実現しようとしたことが、戦後の韓国で韓国人によって継承されたことが理解できた。これは旧植民地における日系新宗教の受容を理解するための重要な手がかりであるといえる。
