Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this study was to reconstruct the latent but systematical Sartrean reflection connecting “aesthetics,” “ethics,” and “politics” and clarify its significance in the history of philosophy. The research allowed us to elucidate the genesis of the Sartrean system from three perspectives: 1) theological tradition, 2) phenomenological filiation, and 3) contemporary literary language theory. The results of this study will be published as a book in French.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の学術的意義はなによりも、一般にサルトルに帰されている政治的「アンガージュマン」の思想とは明確な対照をなす「美学」、「倫理」、「政治」の潜在的接続を、「証言」をめぐる彼の思想体系として再構築したことにある。これによりサルトルの思想史的位置づけ、さらには20世紀フランス思想史の見取り図全般に再考を迫ることができた。来年に予定されている当該研究の仏語出版を通じ、フランスのサルトル専門研究に新たな論点を問うことができるはずである。
