Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
From April 25 to May 3, 2018, I conducted interviews in Vietnam in collaboration with Dr. Hoang Hai Ha of the Hanoi National University of Education. These interviews focused on the history curriculum in Vietnam and the ways in which national and regional identity are incorporated. In August 2018, Dr. Hoang Hai Ha conducted additional interviews with policy makers on the same topic. From July 29 - August 10, 2018, Rosalie Metro (University of Missouri) conducted interviews in Thailand and Burma on (1) UNESCO Bangkok’s shared history project and (2) follow-up interviews on Burmese history education, supported by Ania Zongollowicz in the first academic year. For the remainder of the Second Academic Year, the research team wrote book chapters based on the research collected.
