Outline of Final Research Achievements |
There are people who provide welfare and library services to support the visually impaired, as well as sighted learners who are working towards those qualifications. In order to improve their braille learning effectiveness, we evaluated the displaying methods of Braille and error information by the learners through experiments and analysis. The recommended number of reccommeneded additional blank cells for understanding the mirror image relationship was determined from the experimental results and used as the original data for the Braille 3DCG generation. Based on their error information, we gave them feedback by displaying their mistakes in red. The experimental group of learners who learned Braille on the system with these functions had higher test scores than the control group.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
この研究課題において開発した点字学習支援システム「点字といっしょ!」は、視覚障害者の支援者である専門家たち(福祉施設の職員や図書館司書等)や、そこを目指して学んでいる晴眼の人たちのためのシステムであります。搭載した様々な機能を兼ね備えているシステムは国内外を調査しましたが見当たりません。本システムは研究代表者の大学で司書課程等の授業で運用され、加えて、他の大学で特別支援教員免許の取得を目指している学生が履修する授業でも運用が始まりました。更に、高知県高知市の公立図書館であるオーテピア高知声と点字の図書館の点字体験コーナーに常設され、様々な来館者にご利用いただいております。
