Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study started by capturing the characteristics of Friedrich Schlegel's thoughts at the turn of the century from "chemical" to "organic." While the internal necessity of the conversion in Schlegel individual was clarified through the analysis of his "Fragmente" of the preromantic era and the medium-term philosophical lecture, it tried to represent philosophical constellation around 1800 on the basis of the idea of "Organic" by referring to Kant's critical philosophy, Goethe's "Roman des Weltalls" conception, Herder's poetics, and August Wilhelm Schlegel's "Naturgeschichte der Kunst".

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

観念論と実在論の統合を目指したポスト・カント時代の批判哲学を、フリードリヒ・シュレーゲルというひとりの個性を通して検討することは、すなわち従来峻別されてきた哲学研究と文学研究のあいだの垣根を取り払う試みでもある。
近年、M. ガブリエルを中心とした新実在論が世界的に注目されているが、シェリング研究を思想的出発点としたこの潮流もまた、哲学と文学の有機的統合を基盤としているように思われる。
1800年前後のシュレーゲルにおけるポエジーと哲学の統合としての有機的なものの理念は、その意味においても、現代にいたってなおアクチュアリティを失っていない。
