| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
It has been impossible to present as planned parts of this research to international conferences. I focused on the preparation of the manuscript of my book "The formation and growth of the global medtech industry, 1960 to 2015" under contract with Palgrave Macmillan (to be published in late 2021).
I have also finished and published an article on patenting in the global medtech industry between 1960 and 2014 with the collaboration of Raphael Imer (Enovating Co., Switzerland). This paper demonstrates the existence of three types of innovative companies that maintained their competitiveness over time: large multinationals in the electronics industry, large specialized medtech companies arising from mergers between startups; and traditional specialized SMEs.

Research was delayed due to Covid and impossibility to go abroad to conferences and workshops for discussing my work.
