Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have made two field trips to New Zealand and collected data from North Island robins based at the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary in Wellington. I have satisfactorily achieved my first research objective and am working towards reaching my second research objective. My first research objective was to establish the effect that signal reliability has on predation of insect prey. The data that I collected have confirmed that my initial hypothesis was correct. My second objective was to examine the effect of defence variance on predation. I have collected over half of the data I need to test my hypothesis for this objective. Therefore, I will make a field trip back to New Zealand in March 2020 to finish data collection in order to fulfill my second research objectives.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I have collected 85% of the data I required to meet my research objectives. at present I am conducting analyses of the data I have collected and I am working on drafting a manuscript detailing the results of my first research objective.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I will travel to New Zealand in March 2020 in order to complete data collection for my project which will conclude the experimental work in New Zealand
