Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study elucidates the mechanism of occurrence of three factors(motivation, opportunity, and justification) related to research misconduct factors among scientists.The purpose of this project is to develop a new ethics education program to improve the deterrence against fraud.In this study, we developed a research ethics education program that incorporates the concept of well-being as an effective measure to prevent research misconduct.As a method of measuring educational evaluation, we developed a new evaluation instrument to measure the suppression of research misconduct based on the EPOCH scale.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、科学者への倫理教育の一方法を提案するものであるが、通常行われている関係法令や事例等を覚えるような知識蓄積型の教育プログラムではなく、科学者の不正リスクの発生メカニズムを解明し、不正行為に対する抑止力を向上させることで、科学者が起こす不正行為の発生を未然に防止する「事前対策」としての新しい教育プログラムを開発するものである。そして規則や罰則等による縛りで不正行為を防止するだけではない、倫理教育方法の視点から不正行為を未然に防止する方法を検討する新しい試みである。
