Research Abstract

衝動性眼球運動(サッケード)は、我々が視野内の視覚対象に視線を注視させるために行う素早い眼球運動のことである。サッケードの生成には中脳の上丘が脳幹レベルの中枢として重要な役割を果たす。上丘からの出力は主にサッケードのべクトルを符号し、その信号は脳幹網様体にある神経回路を経て速度信号に変換されて運動ニューロンを活性化する。一方で、前頭眼野や頭頂連合野などの大脳皮質領域は上丘の活動を状況依存的に制御している。本研究課題では、マウスの上丘の脳スライス標本を用いて上丘の局所神経回路での情報処理の原理を明らかにすることを目的とし、浅層と中間層の間の相互作用、両層の中での水平性結合の機能および黒質網様部から中間層へのGABA作動性入力および脚橋被蓋核から中間層へのコリン作動性入力の作用を明らかにした。
