Research Abstract

We successfully manufactured two grism filters which enable us to obtain low-resolution spectra of all the objects in the unique wide field of Subaru prime focus. We also developed a new set of pipeline software to reduce the grism data. This introduced to Subaru telescope a new observing mode. We extended the frontier of the research of the distant universe from redshift z=6 to z=7 by estimating the star formation rate density of the universe at z=7 and discussing the role of z=7 galaxies on the cosmic reionization.
