| Research Abstract |
New cobalt-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of alkyl halides with organometallic reagents have been developed. The reactions contribute to the establishment of universal cross-coupling reaction to connect arbitrary carbon-carbon bonds. Novel dehydrohalogenation is also developed, realizing selective synthesis of alkenes. The concept of cobalt catalysis can be extended to other transition metals group 8 to 11.
