| Research Abstract |
日本海表記の変遷とその背景を示す古地図を、ポルトガルやロシア等ヨーロッパ5カ国の多数の図書館等で数多く特定し記録をとった。ヨーロッパ人によって広域海域名を地図に表記する習慣がもたらされた時点から、日本海の形状が確定しその呼称表記が定着するまでの過程をより明確に画像を用いて示すことができるようになった。
