超流動性の起源について量子渦の研究を通じて解明を理論的に試みた。対象としたのはレーザー冷却されたボーズ並びにフェルミ原子気体である。前者はボーズアインシュタイン凝縮系であり、後者はBCS超流動体である。両者の共通点と差異を実験データの解析の中で明らかにした
