Research Abstract

イネ科植物はキレート化合物であるムギネ酸類を分泌し、土壌中の不溶3価鉄と錯体を形成して植物内に取り込んでいる。我々はムギネ酸類の簡便かつ高収率な合成方法を確立した。また、鉄欠乏状態で生育させたオオムギの根からムギネ酸類鉄錯体トランスポーターHvYS1を同定し、根の表皮細胞特異的な局在を明らかにした。HvYS1はムギネ酸3価鉄錯体のみを輸送し、他の金属錯体は輸送しない。この基質特異性を担っているのが6番目の膜外ループであることを解明した。
