| Research Abstract |
1980年代末から2000年にかけて、海外領土を前提に、フランス共和主義原理に起きた変容とは、人と団体を分けて認識し、「植民地主義の過去」を視野に入れ、原理が適用されたことに関係している。インタビューにこたえ、ジョックス元内務大臣は「海外領土」とそれ以外では共和主義原理との関わりにおいて扱いが違うと明言した。明らかになったことは、集団の認識において海外領土を分ける考え方が、ニュー・カレドニアへの自治制度を作り上げる中で明確になっていった点である。海外領土と出身者が直面する問題へは、共和主義の公正な運用のもとに置かれていなかった「時間」を考慮する中から、改革への道筋がつけられた。また、ナインヴィル・レ・ロッシュ会議(1983年)が転換点としての端緒を開いたことが明らかになった。この時、「植民地という事実」の承認から出発することで、平衡を欠いた社会の損なわれている機能の回復が可能となり、例えば「慣習法」を背景とする権威構造を共和制度の中に、一定期間取り込むなど、「時間」を評価に入れることにつながっていた。
