| Research Abstract |
光合成によるエネルギー変換機能を改良して新規エネルギー生産に応用することを目的として、その初発の反応である水の酸化機能を高めた組換え体の作製を試みた。遺伝子組換えによって遺伝子の発現を制御したり、光化学系II反応中心のアミノ酸を変えることにより、水の酸化機能を1.8倍高めることに成功した。更に機能を高める目的で、水の酸化で生じた電子を受け取る+1.2 Vの高い酸化還元電位を持つP680クロロフィルのリガンドアミノ酸を別のアミノ酸に置換したところ、水の酸化には殆ど影響しないことが明らかになった。
