Outline of Annual Research Achievements

In 2020, I worked on various projects pertaining to the analyses of the third observation run of LIGO and Virgo and first observation run of KAGRA. My contributions include creating source-dependent population models for the analyses, where the model predicts which matched-filtered waveform templates are most likely to detect the search's sources of interest (binary black holes, binary neutron stars, and neutron star black holes). The implementation of a source population model increases the sensitivity of the pipeline. In addition, I acted as a reviewer for an upcoming LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration paper that discusses the results of a search for gravitationally lensed events. I reviewed the code of the pipeline that was used to conduct the search, and I also reviewed the results that were obtained and confirmed their reproducability. I have also contributed developmental work to one of LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA's detection pipelines, GstLAL, in order to improve its efficiency and sensitivity to detecting gravitational waves.
