Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Two-phase mass transport phenomena occurring in the porous electrode of liquid-supplying energy device was clarified in order to establish the scientific base for this area and propose the designing concept which can improve the efficiency of the devise. Liquid and gas transport phenomena in the direct formic acid fuel cell was successfully clarified and the designing concept which can improve the performance was also successfully obtained.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
液体供給形エネルギー機器は、直接ギ酸形燃料電池やフローバッテリー、水電解システムなど、新たなエネルギーを有効に活用するために非常に重要なデバイスである。気液2相流に加えて濃度勾配が存在する複雑な気液物質輸送現象を実験的に明らかにし、これらの機器の効率改善につながり、かつ汎用的に用いることができる電極設計指針を得ることに成功しており、今後のこれらの機器のさらなる効率改善に大きく寄与する成果である。
