Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本課題は、従来技術で合成不可能な新規ポリマーの創製や達成できない効率的なオレフィン多量化を実現可能とする高性能分子触媒の創製、及びその特徴を活かした有機高機能材料の創製や環境調和型の革新的合成手法の開発に関する。平成30年度の代表的な研究成果は以下の通りである。
従来の前周期遷移金属触媒では極めて困難な、低歪みの環状オレフィン(シクロペンテンやシクロオクテンなど)の開環メタセシス重合を効率よく進行可能とするハロゲン化フェノキシ配位子を有する高性能イミド配位バナジウム―アルキリデン触媒を創製した。この触媒は高温で活性が向上し、80℃でも触媒の失活なく、リビング重合挙動を示した。従来触媒にはない、高温での優れた高活性触媒の発現が可能となった。
また、フェノキシ配位バナジウム―アルキリデン錯体上のフェノール添加による速やかな配位子交換反応を利用して、容易に単離可能な電子求引性のイミド配位錯体に電子求引性のフェノールを予備混合することで、従来触媒をはるかに凌駕する超高活性触媒の系内発生に成功した。
エチレンの二量化に高活性・高選択性を示すキレートアニオン性配位子を有するイミド配位ニオブ錯体の合成・同定に成功した。従来の3塩化物を出発とする合成ルートでは溶媒配位により目的錯体が合成できなかったために、イミド配位トリスアミド錯体から目的錯体を合成する新規ルートを開拓した。モデルとなるアルキル化カチオン錯体の合成・同定とエチレンとの反応性や溶液XAFS測定による活性種解析を通じて、5価のアルキルカチオン種が触媒活性種として機能することを明らかにした。

Reason

エチレン二量化に高性能(高活性・高選択性)を発現するニオブ触媒、従来触媒では困難な環状オレフィンの開環メタセシス重合を進行させるバナジウム触媒、及び超高活性触媒を反応系内で発生させる手法の開発をはじめ、既に数多くの有用な成果が得られている。関連のニオブ錯体の合成手法の確立や新規オレフィン系ポリマーの合成も順調に推移しており、今後の展開が大いに期待できる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

初年度で既に基盤となる多くの成果が得られていることから、平成30年度の成果を基盤に課題を発展させるつもりである。
