Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the Muromachi period, the rulings of the shogunate and the "shigyo" by the shugo have a relative prominence that people use as a common point of reference. Therefore, it is believed that people would seek the issuance of documents from the shogunate or the shugo. However, in the Warring States period, the prominence of the bakufu and the shugo declined, and the assurances of the bakufu and the shugo came to be regarded as insufficient, leading to the issuance of documents by local authorities. The hanmotsu does not function solely within the one-to-one relationship between the issuer and the recipient, but also orders the reactions of surrounding third parties. The relationship between those who share that order is the "public" to the "private. The change from the territorial payroll without a document to the territorial payroll with a document is due to the awareness of this "public" order.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
