Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In Korea, there is a system of collective hiring and personnel transfers, and even certain specialized staff are subject to personnel transfers. Until the 1990s, Korea had similarities with Japan, but recent reforms have significantly changed the system, and in particular, the flattening of organizations has contributed to accelerating decision-making. Similarities were also observed in Taiwan regarding hiring and personnel transfers, but there are also universities that combine hiring in specific departments with transfers at the individual's request. In both Korea and Taiwan, staff are not organized in a way similar to an administrative office within the university, but belong to individual departments. Although there is similarity in terms of hiring and promotion among universities in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, there are various other differences, and changes are also occurring due to recent reforms.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
日本における大学職員論の展開方向を探るためには,欧米諸国だけでなく東アジア地域に目を向けることが必要である.特に日本と韓国・台湾の大学には,国立大学の法人化や競争的資金政策,大学評価等,共通する課題が多いとされる.また大学職員の雇用環境や資格に関する社会状況が欧米諸国の「ジョブ型」専門職モデルとは異なっており,独自な展開を遂げている. 本研究による成果は,韓国・台湾との国際比較を通じ,大学組織・経営論,大学職員論,能力開発論等にまたがる課題に取り組んだものである.新たな大学職員像の模索が続く現状において,現実的かつ内発性に基づく新たな職員の役割モデルを探る本研究の意義は大きい.
